In 2009, Autodesk launched Dragonfly, a web-based 3D home design prototype that let non-professionals draw floor plans and arrange furniture right in the browser. A year later, the project was officially released as Homestyler — one of the first platforms to bring professional-grade 3D design capabilities to the web.
In 2016, Easyhome acquired Homestyler, and three years later Alibaba Group co-invested, propelling its global expansion. In 2023, Homestyler pivoted to an AI-driven strategy, deeply integrating generative AI across the entire workflow — from floor plan recognition to render output.
